How are EU policy decisions actually made, and where and how can researchers and organisations engage in practice?

Join our workshop on Tuesday 28 April (09:30–12:30 UK time) for a structured, practice-oriented perspective on how EU policy is shaped across institutions, legislation and funding.

The session brings together four highly experienced speakers with direct EU expertise: The Rt Hon Vicky Ford (former MEP and shadow rapporteur for Horizon 2020), Dr Alan Belward and Dr Peter Churchill (former senior leaders at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre), and Paul Davies (EU policy advisor in Brussels). Together, they offer first-hand insight and case-based perspectives from across the European policy system.

The workshop will explore the EU research policy landscape in practice, including the roles of the European Parliament and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and how research connects to policy, regulation and standards.
